This weekend, had a visit from a special friend, my dear friend Esther. At first thought I did question why now, since i am gonna have exams and all. But after today, I ama glad she came. The time we spent together helped me to pick back up the pieces in life somehow it was put back together. I am more motivated to serve the Lord in all that I do right now .. Bt anyhow, here like most blogs do is an entry on our weekend....

Last Day- A nice breakfaast at the old people's restaurant. Its old people coz we were the only young two there. And then its off to the bus with hugs and good byes. Lat pic at the restaurant ( cancelled and kept for private viewing : )

But the Lord is good in all...

And to face the giants, all i need is to call unto Him..

Here I am Lord and I'm drowning
In the sea of forgetfulness
Hold by the chains of yesterday

I know you have cast my sin out far
As far as the east is from the west

Now help me to fight this war
Let your truth show me
And help me to live for God

being different from the world
Send your spirit to convict my heart
of your words and the words i typed here

Livin is inded meaningless without you

But how oh how do i come back
To you....

Rainy Days and Thursdays

Well woke up early today... and found a pleasant gush of cold wind enfolding over me...

It is raining...

Decided to take a shower and then breakfast. thats when i saw the clock coming close to 9... I thought my class was at 9 but when I cheonged back to my room, I found out it was 10 :)

But beyond that, I decided to switch some nice "christian" music.. the term is in inverted as some people loath the use of the term saying that it does not differ.

Anyways... listening to that music in my semi dark room, on a rainy day.... Ah this is a good start to a day.. leaving me with the chill feeling.. Its like the song rainy days and mondays always leave me.. but not down but hungry for more of God... Perhaps I am a plant?

Enough of gibberish for the day, with that I shall end with this...

Treasure of the day and of the night
Unfold in time to our human eyes
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
Shed on the cross for us

What measure of sacrifice is this
To where does His power end
Nothing can balance the scale with Him
Even in the measure of Love as He is Love

So let these feet walk
Let these lips speak
Of the Lord who seeks
And saves us all... By His Grace, Jesus

An amazing illustration from the bible

In Leviticus 6 vs 8-13, the topic about the burnt offering was brought forward by the Lord to Moses for Aaron. Haha long line of command. But there is an amazing illustration in it about life to me.

It start by saying the burnt offering shall be on the altar all night until the morning and the fire shall be kept burning on it.
Then it goes on to say that the priest putting on his linen garment and undergarment shall take up the ashes and put them beside the altar. Then changing into another garment he shall take it outside the camp to a clean place. The fire on the altar shall be kept burning, it must no go out.
The priest shall burn wood on it every morning and shall arrange the burnt offering on it and shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. And once again the fire on the altar shall be kept burning. It must not go out.

Three things stood out to me. If my life was to be a sacrifice to the Lord then I need to remain on the altar of His presence. The burning fire of the spirit which in scriptures it said do not put the spirit's fire out and do not treat prophecies with contempt . Staying in the spirit's fire refines and produce ashes, the parts of life which is to be shed. To me those click with everything including the past, hurts, dissapointments and even mistakes. And the priest will carry it out. The priest represents to me Jesus. And from the burnt offering, from the offering becomes 2 things an aroma pleasing with the Lord from the fat and the ashes the rest of it.

So let me be an aroma pleasing to the, let the parts of my life be refined and the ashes to be taken out. Let my life be full of your spirit's flame for the people and Your will.

On a side note, I miss my dear so so much and can't wait for the time to travel.

p/s: comment on the illustrations... may not be accurate as I did no research but this is what I sensed.

The No Inspiration Zone

The title to some may seem a little contradictory as it is an inspiration by itself. But lets not dwell on that. The main point is

how many of us have come to a point in our lifes that we have literally no inspiration?

There seems to be no motivation to do work that we ought to get done, even if it means failing the exams.
No inspiration to move and get off the computer.
Well the list can go on and on. But the fact is that each of us would have gone through it.

Theoretically as Christians we should always set our eyes on God and I am sure if we do that, we will be abounding with inspiration, motivation and eagerness.

So question 2 now

Are we setting our eyes on God?

Personally, I am trying, perhaps not enough but am trying. This week of Lent has been a trying week, barely fasted and prayed although i did pray at different times. And as this happens I realise that the other aspects of life just fall apart. There seems to be no purpose in the many things i do and i lack the motivation to do it.

But beyond all that, I thank God that He has been gracious to me, dropping a few bread crumbs along the path that a little boy like me can follow ( Hansel and Gretel). And this grace goes beyond what I am doing or ought to do. It is totally undeserved.

So how then do we keep our eyes on the Lord?

Well today's lent was about knowing God and the header pretty much strikes me. I know him as gracious, kind, just, love, powerful, scary wrath with thunders and lightning.. but it all seems so a distant... and insufficient as it barely scratches the surface and there is so much more. How does this link to the question. Well imagine if there were a picture so wonderful, its colours are overwhelming and the message withing just reaches out and grabs you in, wouldn't you just stand and stare at it for a long time. (Now this analogy applies to those who may enjoy art, for those who don't imagine the picture as something that fascinates you.)

But in the first place, what if you did not know about it or did not know about the message behind it, would it have caught your attention... I am guessing not.

(most of you would have gotten what I am saying but as there is a head , there is a tail)

The same it is with God, we need to know more about Him so that we understand fully His love or the person He is. Then our attention cannot be moved and from there motivation will too abound.

So conclusion

Seek to know God and your eyes will just focus on His abundance and you will never lose in life

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all this shall be added unto you.

Poll question

Should we use books to read about God and topics like grace or should we just read the bible and wait for illumination.

The Mirror

This was a short account of what i was talking to a friend about.Well she asked me what the differences between the various churches, and my reply is the people and how they see and share the bible. Then I said that some focus only on the part where God loves us and so on and so forth but what they forget is the part where God is also just and we will go to hell if we are not saved. This is the hard and cold truth and my friend replied but they ought to make it sound good, attract people.

When she said that, this came to my mind,

Imagine you think you were a super drop dead gorgeous model and so you go around flaunting your "looks". So you are living in pretty much a disillusionment because the truth is you are not, and when people do not hire you for modeling, you are saying to yourself, well they can't afford me anyway. Well imagine how catastrophic this would be.
To get you out of it, What you need is a mirror, a mirror that shows you your flaws and beauty and most of all who you are. You don't need another poster of a model that you look to and say to your self " Hey ! you're looking good".

The point is the bible is that mirror with the Holy Spirit showing us where we fall short and thats why we need Jesus all the more so. It also tells us that we are God's children, the earth is His bride. So I believe in Jesus, because I am a sinner, fallen short from God's standard but now allowed to enter in because Jesus has paid the price for me. Do you believe?

p/s: thanks shannon for that thought when we were back in Malaysia. See, God sowed a seed with your words :)

disclaimer: I am not saying all of you are not gorgeous. : )
