In Leviticus 6 vs 8-13, the topic about the burnt offering was brought forward by the Lord to Moses for Aaron. Haha long line of command. But there is an amazing illustration in it about life to me.
It start by saying the burnt offering shall be on the altar all night until the morning and the fire shall be kept burning on it.
Then it goes on to say that the priest putting on his linen garment and undergarment shall take up the ashes and put them beside the altar. Then changing into another garment he shall take it outside the camp to a clean place. The fire on the altar shall be kept burning, it must no go out.
The priest shall burn wood on it every morning and shall arrange the burnt offering on it and shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. And once again the fire on the altar shall be kept burning. It must not go out.
Three things stood out to me. If my life was to be a sacrifice to the Lord then I need to remain on the altar of His presence. The burning fire of the spirit which in scriptures it said do not put the spirit's fire out and do not treat prophecies with contempt . Staying in the spirit's fire refines and produce ashes, the parts of life which is to be shed. To me those click with everything including the past, hurts, dissapointments and even mistakes. And the priest will carry it out. The priest represents to me Jesus. And from the burnt offering, from the offering becomes 2 things an aroma pleasing with the Lord from the fat and the ashes the rest of it.
So let me be an aroma pleasing to the, let the parts of my life be refined and the ashes to be taken out. Let my life be full of your spirit's flame for the people and Your will.
On a side note, I miss my dear so so much and can't wait for the time to travel.
p/s: comment on the illustrations... may not be accurate as I did no research but this is what I sensed.
