The No Inspiration Zone

The title to some may seem a little contradictory as it is an inspiration by itself. But lets not dwell on that. The main point is

how many of us have come to a point in our lifes that we have literally no inspiration?

There seems to be no motivation to do work that we ought to get done, even if it means failing the exams.
No inspiration to move and get off the computer.
Well the list can go on and on. But the fact is that each of us would have gone through it.

Theoretically as Christians we should always set our eyes on God and I am sure if we do that, we will be abounding with inspiration, motivation and eagerness.

So question 2 now




Are we setting our eyes on God?






Personally, I am trying, perhaps not enough but am trying. This week of Lent has been a trying week, barely fasted and prayed although i did pray at different times. And as this happens I realise that the other aspects of life just fall apart. There seems to be no purpose in the many things i do and i lack the motivation to do it.

But beyond all that, I thank God that He has been gracious to me, dropping a few bread crumbs along the path that a little boy like me can follow ( Hansel and Gretel). And this grace goes beyond what I am doing or ought to do. It is totally undeserved.

So how then do we keep our eyes on the Lord?

Well today's lent was about knowing God and the header pretty much strikes me. I know him as gracious, kind, just, love, powerful, scary wrath with thunders and lightning.. but it all seems so a distant... and insufficient as it barely scratches the surface and there is so much more. How does this link to the question. Well imagine if there were a picture so wonderful, its colours are overwhelming and the message withing just reaches out and grabs you in, wouldn't you just stand and stare at it for a long time. (Now this analogy applies to those who may enjoy art, for those who don't imagine the picture as something that fascinates you.)

But in the first place, what if you did not know about it or did not know about the message behind it, would it have caught your attention... I am guessing not.

(most of you would have gotten what I am saying but as there is a head , there is a tail)

The same it is with God, we need to know more about Him so that we understand fully His love or the person He is. Then our attention cannot be moved and from there motivation will too abound.

So conclusion

Seek to know God and your eyes will just focus on His abundance and you will never lose in life


Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all this shall be added unto you.

The Mirror

This was a short account of what i was talking to a friend about.Well she asked me what the differences between the various churches, and my reply is the people and how they see and share the bible. Then I said that some focus only on the part where God loves us and so on and so forth but what they forget is the part where God is also just and we will go to hell if we are not saved. This is the hard and cold truth and my friend replied but they ought to make it sound good, attract people.

When she said that, this came to my mind,

Imagine you think you were a super drop dead gorgeous model and so you go around flaunting your "looks". So you are living in pretty much a disillusionment because the truth is you are not, and when people do not hire you for modeling, you are saying to yourself, well they can't afford me anyway. Well imagine how catastrophic this would be.
To get you out of it, What you need is a mirror, a mirror that shows you your flaws and beauty and most of all who you are. You don't need another poster of a model that you look to and say to your self " Hey ! you're looking good".

The point is the bible is that mirror with the Holy Spirit showing us where we fall short and thats why we need Jesus all the more so. It also tells us that we are God's children, the earth is His bride. So I believe in Jesus, because I am a sinner, fallen short from God's standard but now allowed to enter in because Jesus has paid the price for me. Do you believe?

It took a stumble to awaken me for rumble

Well thats not too bad a title. But it was a stumble upon a nice little blog by this girl whom i did not know to remind me of the amazing experience of immersing in God's presence. Well I probably should get her permission to promo her blog but here is the link .

As I was reading, it reminded me of the personal yet simplistic relationship with God that I had when i started out serving and loving Him. I know for sure that this relationship is what we all ought to have as the scripture says
Matthew 18:3
And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

I think Jesus meant the faith and innocence of the young child. Now imagine a child that is super close to the father. And also as a child there is a simplistic worldview such as how 1 = 1 and not 1 = 2 +5 -6.

As an end tonight,

I'm coming back to the heart of worship,
and it is all about you.. its all about you Jesus.
Help me to live with a child like reliance, counting on your vision of the word and the world and me.

Lent 2008 - First day

Its not the first day of the program but the first day for me. Here is a my thoughts and also a wonderful prayer they included

My thoughts:

Let His will light my way, shine out the darkness of my soul, highlight the weakness of my man,so that i may grow, die and grow and bear fruits for my Saviour King

The prayer

Holy God, you have shown me light and life. You are stronger than any natural power. Accept the words from my heart that struggle to reach you. Accept the silent thoughts and feelings that are offered to You. Clear my mind of the clutter of useless facts. Bend down to me and lift me in Your arms. Make me holy as You are holy. Went back to Malaysia for the Chinese New Year and manage to spend a lot of time with a loved one and ones as well. But coming back here = banyak banyak kerja and fast paced catching up. Esther Wee , if God is willing and so is she :) after maybe 5 years of knowing my obnoxious habits :) But the idea is the person whom God has willed for me..

Have nice walks and spend time with my loved one as well as sharing the Gospel around the globe

Jesus

Pray... - .... Knowing that God is my Lord and also Lord over all, He will guide me and comfort me, deliver me and mould me in His will

Focus on the Lord
Grow as His child in His will
Wait on Him for the best things in life
And in all the things i cannot be certain, He can : )

9.) If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her? Or just keep secret in heart, observing by yourself?
This question is a little void as I already have that person in my life, But I guess as the guy I ought to initiate although a little help from the other side would help as well.. come to think of it, that was what happened too, she prayed :)

10.) Till now, what is the moment that you regret most?
I may regret the boundaries that I stepped on and crossed, thus losing some precious gifts i could offer to my spouse, but then again, its these experiences that God has used to build me. : )


11.) What are the requirements that you wish for your another half?
Let see * unrolls a 10 meter scroll* .......

Well there is only one thing I ask, Love God and teach me to love Him more.

Not sure .... consider it the phlegmatic personality

to be a missionary....marry the woman i love, settle down and set up a family as well as provide for them and do ministry together.

Nope .. or maybe ... Jim Elliot .. but then again.. I'm good with me

Tour the world with a christian band, sharing to the multitudes and using music to reach out with my friends

Pray for comfort and then offer it to those who do not know God

One day delayed entry - The Start of something ew

Well as it says, this entry is one day late.

Something new has been added to my life, and perhaps the next best thing besides the end times that could happen.

I have left the single boat and move on to a ship with an amazing person. She is Esther Wee and boy am I glad to have her in my life. It has been quite a journey building this ship together, but God was there with us the whole long time and will be there all the way. For those who want to hear the interesting details of the story, ask us personally.

But entering into this relationship was much different compared to those of the past. I guess it was what Esther would always say. The main thing is that we trust in the Lord and keep our eyes on Him and I would affirm it that this is definitely the most important element. Especially if our whole lifes are to be spent together.

Anyways, should not blog for too long as I ought to be studying. So do tune in next time for more.. : )
